Carrying the Light Wherever We Are and Allowing it to Serve

A minister in Pacific Palisades, CA wrote: Some nice man was just chatting with me in line at the bank and as I left said “say a prayer for me.” Sounds like it’s a financial challenge related to his two daughters in college and a bill came up unexpectedly. I don’t know his name (to send the Light to) but spirit does.

Remembering to See Our Actions as Service to the Lord

An Ojai, CA minister shared: As I am making my bed each morning I am remembering to be grateful that the Lord slept here.

Staying Aware of What Might be Needed in the Moment

A Minister in Ojai, CA: In our local grocery store I connected with a new mother and her 2 day old baby nursing from her breast. She said they [husband and two older kids] were on their way home from the hospital and needed groceries. A few minutes later she and I were alone on the produce aisle. I asked if I could assist. She gratefully accepted, told me what to put in the cart and I then went on my way grateful to have been next to God in the presence of a 2 day old soul.

Sharing the Beauty of Our Creative Hearts

From a minister in Calabasas, CA; I get to witness beautiful acts of kindness on a regular basis when I see my wife reach out to our brothers and sisters in MSIA with the beautiful cards she writes/creates, the beauty and creativity of the card reflecting the loving that comes with it to the person who could use some cheer.

Paying a Gift Forward Puts a Twinkle in the Eye

A minister in Willow Grove, PA wrote: One of the most fun, joyful acts I've ever experienced is anonymously paying a gift forward. I've both received and given this act, and both experiences are wonderful, magical and Spirit-filled. It can be as simple as paying for a person's lunch behind me in line (and the cashier is instructed not to tell them who paid), or paying for someone else's food or beverage in a drive-through or restaurant. It puts a twinkle in my eye, a smile on my face, and loving warmth in my heart. And it's so easy!  I love the knowledge that I may never know the receiver, and they may never know me (personally). All we know of each other is Spirit, that God has been both the giver and the receiver. That's as true as anything can ever get, that it's God doing it with God.

Reach Out and Touch Someone’s Heart

A minister in Carpinteria, CA shared: I wanted to let you know that my friend was deeply touched by all the people who connected with her on her 91st birthday. She heard from people that she hadn't seen or talked to in years! She asked me to thank you.  And I thank you. What a sweet thing for her and all of us.

Doing Unto and For the God in Another

A Eugene, Oregon minister writes:  Recently I was hospitalized, twice, and was barely functioning. My laundry had been piling up and I was running out of clean pajamas. Another minister and sister of my heart took the basket of dirty laundry home with her and returned it , clean and neatly folded, the next day. She has also been very generous with offering me rides to appointments and occasionally picking up prescriptions and groceries for me.

Simply Holding for Another

From Williamsburg, VA comes this acknowledgment: A minister friend of mine has been a beacon of Light for me in so many ways in my spiritual journey! She never pushed or tugged; she loved me and knew that I'd do what was right for me.

Doing the Next Thing in Front of Us

A minister in Venezuela wrote: I asked my sister for support in caring for our mom  who is in the early stages of dementia. My sister began complaining because my mom was a bit off. I then told her that instead of complaining, she needs to understand that our mom is not "here" in the same way she once was. Her memory is failing and she’s doing the best she can. She offered financial support and I thanked her. I explained to her that the money is helpful, and sometimes I just need a break. And by a break I mean not handling mom.

She teared up and said she wished there was an easier way. I told her, from my perspective, all we need to do is whatever we can to make it easier. I think we came to an understanding that all we can do is the next thing in front of us with our loving and caring.

Light Shared Through a Smile

From Madrid, Spain this minister wrote: I am often met at the supermarket, by a lovely woman who simply smiles. She doesn't ask anything from anyone. I have seen some people offer money or food. One day I decided to talk to her and her joy was abundant.  I decided to give her some clothes, sweets and some money. But the gift she gave me back was "Divine Glory".  I just wanted to show you "Sandra's” big smile, and the joy of her heart.

Lending a Hand, Literally

A minister’s niece who lives in Spain passed this along: A delivery guy was standing on the sidewalk struggling with the wind. The van's door was flung open, and his boxes and the papers were flying all over the place. People were passing by, totally unaware or indifferent, and my niece came closer and helped the guy. She held the van's door and the boxes while he was picking up the papers. She said the guy almost cried and she said: "Hey, no big deal. All is OK''.

Putting Love into Action

The San Diego Ministerial community’s ongoing programs: We have been doing a fun loving service of collecting new and used socks, to donate to a homeless shelter. “The staff at the shelter are always so appreciative of the donations and tell us the people use everything we send. In past years we have made many donations of hygiene products, crocheted hats, scarfs and beanies, clothes and blankets, all donated by our community. When we drop off a delivery we call in the Light, plant a Light Column and ask that those that receive the donations are blessed. We also sent some handmade crocheted baby blankets to Turkey through an agency taking earthquake relief donations.  We were so touched to think that the blankets we lovingly made were going to little babies in severe and devastating conditions. Currently we have been busy crocheting more baby blankets, scarfs, beanies and ear warmers for a delivery next winter to the homeless shelter and a local school. Our service is Spirit led, and is continuous. We keep it simple and done with great love. Our hearts are open as we let love lead us to give to those in need. We witness God in those we serve. One outstanding memory is on one of our drop-offs we saw a woman at the entrance of the shelter, and as we were exiting we greeted her. She had a beautiful  toothless smile and radiant eyes. All she kept saying to us is, ‘I’m so blessed, I’m so blessed’. The loving was so present and we felt Spirit had blessed us with her presence.”

HeartFelt Offering: HeartFelt Healing Prayers This Saturday, February 6 9-9:45am PDT via Zoom

Beloveds,

We would like to welcome you to join us in a new service opportunity (giving and receiving) through HeartFelt. On the first Saturday of each month — beginning this coming Saturday, February 6th from 9-9:45am – we will be offering Healing Prayers for all who would like to receive and participate.

This service will be done worldwide via Zoom. Recipients of the prayer are open to the general public, so please feel free to invite your friends! Those giving the prayer will be MSIA ministers.

This will be done in a similar vein to prayer communion: the minister has a clear intention, standing aside and allowing the healing and loving energy of Christ, Traveler, and Holy Spirit to come through. They will direct the energy to the participants in the Zoom room using intuition, creativity, divine imagination, hand movement, intention, etc. Remember, a willingness to do gives the ability to do.

We will begin by calling in the Light, chanting the Ani-Hu and then move on to the healing prayer. After 5 minutes, we encourage those who were giving to now receive, and those MSIA ministers who were receiving to now give, all if they so choose. All people will wash their hands and drink water to clear as they complete, and then to close, we will play a J-R healing meditation.

These events will be hosted by ministers Richard Mitz, Skyler Patton, and Clara Jansky (Spanish translation).

If you feel called to join us and participate in this loving, healing prayer, please save this email and click the link below on Saturday, February 6th at 9am PST.

HOLIDAYS at HEARTFELT

DECEMBER

HeartFelt Christmas

While this has certainly has been and continues to be an unusual year, the Christmas season remains an important time of Light and joy—now perhaps more than ever.

Thanks to your INCREDIBLE generosity, we were able to make this Christmas extra special for many children and their families.

JOSHUA HOUSE — ENCINATAS, MEXICO

Our MSIA family donated the complete $1,500 needed for a brand new bathroom at Joshua House in Encinatas! They had been shut down for not having the bathroom up to health codes, preventing Pastor Benny from delivering much needed food to the local children in Encinatas, Mexico. For many children these meals are their only source for breakfast and lunch. The cafeteria was started by Pastor Benny years ago as a way to keep the children well-fed enough to continue their schooling.

When I sent Pastor Benny the funds we raised to fully cover the necessary repairs at Joshua House he was brought to tears. And that was before I told him we had also raised an additional $200+ for food for the children there! He was deeply moved by all of your generosity and kindness and sends his love and prayers to you all. As he said, working together to help each other out is the greatest gift we can give.

EAST LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA FAMILY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS & FOOD

Additionally, we well surpassed our $4,000 goal (you all donated over $6,500!) for Christmas toys and hot meals for hundreds of underprivileged families in East LA! This enabled Pastor Benny and his family to purchase all the needed toys and hot meals for the local families in East LA who are greatly in need this Christmas. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, these presents we provided often were the only presents the children received for Christmas, and this year the impact is even more deeply felt and appreciated.

All the toys have already been purchased and are waiting to be given out to the children. Unfortunately, due to the strict COVID lockdown restrictions, HeartFelt and Pastor Benny are unable to distribute the toys and hot meals at an event/party like we usually do. But there will be many grateful families nevertheless.

RED ROSE MEMORIAL PROJECT — LOS ANGELES, CA

During this difficult time, we are also all sending love, Light and prayers to all those who have been affected by or lost a loved one due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a way to support further healing and awareness, HeartFelt has also donated to the Rose River Memorial Project.

The Rose River Memorial Project is a beautiful community-collaborative art installation that represents the enormity of the loss from the COVID-19 crisis. The memorial's intention is to be a focus for all of us to mourn and heal, personally and as a nation.

Each handcrafted red rose, symbolizing both the official floral emblem of the United States as well as symbolizing the passing of the spirit, are placed in undulating rows in a stunning outdoor location, one rose for each life lost.

The project has already begun with several installations around the Los Angeles area representing those lost locally. They're intending to continue expanding the project all the way to a national level, with an installation in Washington DC.

Minister Carolyn Freyer-Jones was instrumental in introducing HeartFelt to this project. Carolyn lost her father due to COVID-19 in July and has since then become the founder of The Friday Minute which has been featured across the nation (you can check out a recent article featured in the Los Angeles Times here or visit The Friday Minute website here).

Carolyn has shared, "The Rose River Memorial is special to me because it's about the loving. Loving hands from all over the country and world are crafting thousands of felt roses to represent all the beautiful lives that completed and those that are grieving. It's a beautiful project."

HeartFelt's donation will go to 166 felt rose making kits which translates to 1,333 roses. If you would like HeartFelt to continue supporting this project you may do so via a donation below (please email Skyler at skyler@heartfelt.org to let me know your donation is for The Rose River Memorial Project). Additionally, if you'd like a felt rose making kit for the project sent to you, you can do so here.

A HeartFelt Christmas!

LOS ANGELES, CA : The Spirit of Christmas came early this year! On Sunday, December 22nd, HeartFelt held our annual Christmas celebration for children and families in need. The event was held in the enclosed outdoor parking lot at Pastor Benny Herrera's Christian Fellowship church in East LA. HeartFelt returned for a third year to work with Pastor Benny.

I was told by these girls that unicorns are EVERYTHING! Several girls formed a unicorn club with their unicorn toys!

I was told by these girls that unicorns are EVERYTHING! Several girls formed a unicorn club with their unicorn toys!

Through his work, Pastor Benny has a very good pulse on who in his community are in the greatest need. The extraordinarily kind and generous donations and gifts from our MSIA family enabled us to purchase over 500 toys (toys, which I was told by many children, were the BEST)! About 200 some of the most in need children and their families in East LA came to enjoy in the celebration this year. Many of the children would only receive gifts from this event this year and since we were so abundant with toys thanks to the generous donations HeartFelt received, we were able to give all of the children who showed up 2 presents each!

Our MSIA family helped pull this event together in all aspects. MSIAers from all over the world donated funds to make this event possible! A minister who always has Christmas and giving in her heart, Rita Van Fossan, generously donated a lot of her time to help purchase toys, food, drinks, and treats for the event. MSIAer Gabriela Vahanian was an instrumental toy shopper volunteer as well. We had so much help organizing and sorting all the gifts the week before the event. Early in the week, Monika Zands, Juliana Vasquez and Thanhdi Nguyen helped with the first batch of organizing and sorting of the gifts. Later in the week, Ministers John Hruby and Carolyn Freyer-Jones along with their AMAZING little helpers Cayden and Lucinda lovingly assisted in sorting and organizing all the gifts before the event.

On the day of the event, Prana's very own kitchen staff David Funk and Ned O'Neill were up early preparing about 350 hot dogs. Rita and Matt Van Fossan brought over all the food for the event and Rita along with LeAnna Sharp and Orion Lopez served the treats with big smiles and bigger hearts! All extra food was graciously packaged up and given to the families to take home for later (HUGE HIT).

When we arrived in East LA we had an amazing team of HeartFelt Elves to help decorate the place and pass out toys during the event: Larry Quimby (minister & yearly HeartFelt Elf), Rita & Matt Van Fossan (ministers), LeAnna Sharp & Orion Lopez (ministers), Richard Klein (minister), John & Amy Hruby (ministers) and sons Cayden and Connor, Carolyn Freyer-Jones & John Jones (ministers) and daughter Lucinda, Rinaldo Porcile & Maritza Del Valle Porcile (ministers), Andrea Barkley (minister) & Mike Blakeslee, and wonderful new faces not in MSIA: Juliana Vazquez, Thanhdi Nguyen, Ashton Avilla, Blaine Strong, Tucker, Kyra, Roni Weissman, Juan Carlos, and Briana Bernhardt & her daughter and father. HeartFelt was surely BLESSED this year with volunteers who radiated the Christmas spirit!

Right before the event began, there was a huge crowd of children and their families lined up buzzing with excitement. As soon as we opened the gate to let them in the children shrieked with joy and ran straight to the present line. As they were each handed a present they beamed with happiness. Then they turned around and the biggest surprise of the day was right there waiting for them - SANTA! Kids lined up eagerly to sit on Santa's lap and take a picture with him.

The families then loaded up on the delicious hot dogs and cookies, popcorn and drinks. As they sat down to eat, many of the children began to share their exciting new gifts with each other. The children laughed, played and the families just beamed. The food was enthusiastically devoured!

Thanks to our MSIA family's generous donations, we were able to give every child that showed up two presents and even were able to give Pastor Benny over 100+ toys to take to the children he ministers to in Encinata, Mexico. Pastor Benny runs a soup kitchen there where very poor children can get two free meals a day - a lot of the time the only place they get fed. Pastor Benny said the children there will be thrilled to receive a Christmas present as well!

With overflowing love and gratitude in my heart, thank you all for making this HeartFelt Christmas event possible and such a joyous experience for everyone involved. God bless us all, Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year! ❤️

THANK YOU! SUPPORT FOR VENEZUELA HEARTFELT DONATION MATCHING OPPORTUNITY!!

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to support HeartFelt's relief efforts for Venezuela. The funds raised during our October fundraiser event allowed us to ship many boxes of desperately needed goods to our MSIA family in Venezuela as well as several other humanitarian organizations.

Your most recent donations have allowed us to be able to put together all of these boxes below! The recipients of these much needed goods include: our MSIA family, the extended family of MSIAers, several poor families of friends with many young children where everyone in the family is quite skinny due to lack of proper nutrition, homeless children and their families, an orphanage that cares for more than 125 children who are not able to live with their families, separated from their family due to abuse, mistreatment or economic hardship, and a retirement home where 162 seniors are cared for by 11 nuns.

The boxes have included diapers, baby formula, toilet paper, LOTS of food such as tuna, rice, beans and more, pain relief medicine for children and adults, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and perhaps most importantly, WATER. Right now, much of Venezuela does not have safe drinkable water.

Therefore, we are sending thousands of AquaTab water purifying tablets which will purify drinking water. One AquaTab tablet purifies a liter of water drinkable for 24 hours. Each case we order comes with 10,000 AquaTab tablets which means, 10,000 liters of drinkable water for those desperately in need! A case of 10,000 AquaTabs costs $200.

HeartFelt Christmas

"I was having dinner with two friends recently, and I was sitting between them in one of those curved booths at a restaurant. I reached over and touched them and said, 'This feels like Christmas to me.' They looked at me and I said, 'It's because I'm with people who love.' Not people I love, but people who love. There is a difference. I didn't have to love them; they were loving.”
- John-Roger, D.S.S.

The HeartFelt Foundation is sponsoring a Christmas event for Los Angeles children in need. HeartFelt is supporting the great work of Pastor Benny Herrera in East LA by hosting this event to spread Christmas cheer to the underprivileged children from Pastor Benny's church and the East LA neighborhood. For many this may be their only Christmas gift and Christmas celebration.

We will also be supporting Maryvale children who are in the foster care system, abused and neglected kids from the greater Los Angles area.

Fundraiser for Venezuela

"The loving that is the true self's nature comes with sharing and caring. No matter how loving you feel, if you do not share your love, then you will simply be feeding your ego. But if you are caring and sharing, your loving opens the personality. Then the exterior senses can be utilized by the Soul, so that we naturally see where best to invest our efforts for the greatest good of all.”

Children from the Bambi House in Venezuela

Children from the Bambi House in Venezuela

If you've been following the news lately, in particular relation to Venezuela, you'll have heard that there has been unbelievable hardships that have befallen the Venezuelans. Food is scarce, and for what little there is families may have to wait hours in line or pick at rotten meat in order to eat. Orphanages and hospitals do not have the medicines or basic supplies they need to properly care for those in their care. Family pets are being abandoned because their owners cannot care for them and are then starving in the streets.

All of this can be overwhelming and possibly even disheartening.

So what can be done? What can we do? Can we make an impact?

YES!

Join Us in our fun and joyful Service in Action Fundraiser for Venezuela!

Join the HeartFelt Foundation's fundraiser to aid various causes in Venezuela - and help those desperately in need.

This is a joyous celebration of the impact we all can make.

We'll have live music by local Venezuelan bands and DJsVenezuelan inspired food and Venezuelan dessertsbags, jewelry, blankets and more for sale by some local Venezuelan artists, meditation and more!

All our events will be in English with live Spanish translation.
